"We can make plans about when and what we might want to eat in the future and we can worry or examine what we ate in the past; but, ultimately the eating experience is in the moment and that is where physical and emotional healing with food and body image is found."

Nutrition and Fitness Philosophy
Joyfully Nourished is dedicated to promoting food, eating and fitness choices based in kindness, self-care, compassion and joy.
Every moment we have the opportunity to listen to our needs and respond from a place of self-care.
Transformation moment-by-moment is a gradual process that takes practice consistently showing up and acting from self-compassion and curiosity.
All body types and sizes are welcome!
I'm not a fan of diets or the scale as a measure of eating success.
I also think there is great potential for the individualized nutrition guidance found in Integrative and Functional Dietetics.
You and your body are trust worthy to make food and eating decisions.
All body physiologies are unique, all people are unique, and everyones' life is unique; therefore, what works well for one person nutritionally may or may not work the same for another person.
And there is a unique journey to a healthy relationship with food, eating, exercise, and body image for everyone.
Fitness can be simply about movement, health, and fun; and does not need to be about reaching a specific goal or changing how the body looks.
I believe you have the tools to know what is best for you with food, eating, exercise, and the body; my role is simply to reassure you and act as a guide helping you find the path that is right for you.
"Anna gave me very simple exercises with each counseling session based on what I knew about myself and what would work for me. And that's one of the best things about Anna's work. She strives to individualize her sessions with her clients so they can learn the most about themselves and apply that inner knowledge in the most effective way possible. I have learned so much about myself and my relationship with food, and now I feel more relaxed and joyful about eating, and, best of all, I no longer feel such guilt and repression on the fringes of every food choice I make!"
